Vercel

Vercel operates a cloud platform for deploying and hosting frontend applications, particularly Next.js projects, with a focus on developer speed and scale, and increasingly positions itself as agentic infrastructure. The company provides two official MCP servers — the Vercel MCP Server and Next.js DevTools MCP — and separately publishes v0, its own AI assistant for UI generation.

Through its API, CLI, MCP, and "Skills," AI coding agents can connect directly to the deployment infrastructure, including secure sandboxed VMs for isolated execution of apps and agents. With "eve," Vercel offers a framework for building durable agents; "Passport" handles authentication for internal agents, apps, and deployments; and "Containers" isolates production workloads from one another. Companies building on this infrastructure include Notion, Zapier, and Mintlify.

Beyond the core deployment platform, Vercel publishes a range of its own tools and skills for its Next.js framework and the Vercel AI SDK, including Turborepo for monorepo build systems, Vercel AI Elements and Vercel Workflow for AI-driven application development, and Web Interface Guidelines for consistent UI design.

Vercel was founded in 2015 by Guillermo Rauch, initially under the name ZEIT, rebranding to Vercel in 2020; Rauch also created the Next.js framework itself. In September 2025, the company raised a $300 million Series F round at a $9.3 billion valuation.
