Canva

Canva operates the eponymous design platform for graphics, presentations, videos, and other visual content, and publishes two distinct MCP servers: the Canva Dev MCP Server for building custom Canva apps, and the Canva MCP Server (also referred to as the "Canva AI Connector") for accessing Canva features from within AI assistants.

The Canva Dev MCP Server gives AI coding assistants such as Claude or Cursor real-time Canva development context and tools, turning them from generic coding helpers into specialized Canva development experts. With a single prompt, it can generate a fully structured app that follows established best practices by invoking the Canva CLI's app generator, and it also helps migrate existing UI to the App UI Kit's components to keep functionality and appearance consistent. The server runs locally on the developer's machine and pulls documentation directly from canva.dev.

Canva was founded in 2012 by Melanie Perkins, together with Cliff Obrecht and Cameron Adams; the founders moved from Perth to Sydney to recruit technical talent. The platform publicly launched in 2013. What began as a tool focused on school yearbooks has since grown into one of the most widely used design platforms in the world.
