Arcade operates an infrastructure layer that lets AI agents securely connect to business systems, positioning itself as the "actions runtime" between agents and the systems they need to reach — with a single control point for enforcing security policies on agent actions.
Agents authenticate through existing identity providers and act on behalf of specific, authenticated users rather than through broadly permissioned service accounts, so permissions can be assigned per user instead of blanket access. The platform offers more than 8,000 permission-aware tools and also supports custom MCP implementations; built-in evaluations are meant to catch hallucinated or destructive calls before they actually run. Every action is logged — naming the agent, user, and system involved — and can be streamed to SIEM systems, giving organizations full visibility into every tool their agents use.
Arcade is framework-agnostic, working with LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, and other environments, is compatible with any language model, and supports both cloud and on-premises deployment. Its founding team brings experience from Okta, Snowflake, Redis, Airbyte, and MongoDB, and says it helped author the MCP tool authorization specification and holds seats on the steering committees for MCP security and governance.
Because the founding team itself helped shape the MCP security specification, Arcade positions itself less as a security layer bolted on afterward and more as infrastructure designed for MCP governance from the ground up.
