Mistral Vibe is Mistral AI's AI assistant. The service was called "Le Chat" until 28 May 2026; with the rename it was expanded into a combined work and coding agent, carrying over existing conversations, settings, and subscriptions.
What Vibe does
Vibe answers questions in chat, runs deep research across the web, internal documents, and connected tools, creates and edits documents, analyses data, and generates images. For software tasks, Vibe writes, tests, and deploys code through its own command line and editor extensions. Recurring work can be stored as agents that plan a task, ask for sign-off, and then work across connected tools. Per the provider, Vibe integrates 100+ external tools via connectors and is fully MCP compatible; voice input is supported through Voxtral.
Platforms
Vibe is available as a web interface and as iOS and Android apps. For coding there is a command line (CLI) and extensions for Visual Studio Code, JetBrains IDEs, and Zed. Per the product page, it runs on Mistral's own models such as Mistral Medium 3.5, Mistral Small 4, Mistral OCR 4, and Voxtral.
Free
Per the provider, the free tier is for trying Vibe out: access on web and mobile, a limited number of messages and web searches, limited coding sessions, and image generation.
Pro
Per the provider, the Pro tier offers more messages and web searches, all-day coding in the CLI, IDE, or on the web, additional image generations, monthly API credit, and chat and email support. Mistral lists a discounted access option for verified students. The purchase happens exclusively on the provider's own website, not through Skill Road.
Team and Enterprise
Per the provider, the Team tier adds more storage per user, domain verification, and data export on top of Pro. The Enterprise tier uses custom commercial terms and offers, among other things, custom models and agents, audit logs, SAML SSO, and deployment on your own infrastructure, in a private cloud, or on Mistral Cloud with data residency.
European infrastructure
Per the provider, Mistral markets Vibe as "sovereign AI" on European infrastructure; Enterprise customers are promised full data residency, and the product page names the government of Luxembourg as a reference customer. For processing and privacy, Mistral points to a data processing agreement, its privacy policy, and a trust center.
Who Vibe fits
Anyone who only occasionally asks a question or generates an image is fine with the free tier. For regular coding through the CLI, IDE, or web, along with more frequent research, Pro is the natural next step. Teams that need centralized administration, per-user storage, and data export are well served by Team; organizations with high compliance requirements or a need for their own infrastructure choose Enterprise. For users who particularly care about data processing staying within the EU, Vibe is an alternative to US-based AI assistants thanks to its European origin and infrastructure.
Frequently asked questions
