Programmatic SEO

An agent skill for SEO pages at scale: data, templates, internal linking, and quality controls.

Programmatic SEO is an individual skill in Corey Haines' Marketing Skills repository for teams that want to create many related search pages from templates and data. The term does not mean publishing as many URLs as possible. The guidance starts with recurring search patterns—such as templates, comparisons, integrations, directories, profiles, glossary terms, or locations—and requires every page to provide real value matching the query. According to the repository, the agent should read existing product-marketing context before planning, then clarify the business, audience, conversion goal, demand, competition, and technical starting point.

From a keyword pattern to a defensible offering

The skill describes twelve recurring playbooks, including templates, curated lists, conversions, comparisons, examples, locations, personas, integrations, glossaries, translations, directories, and profiles. Selection should begin with data and product advantage: proprietary data is hardest to copy, followed by product-derived, user-generated, licensed, and finally public data. Before implementation, a team should therefore document the variables, the number of meaningful combinations, data origin, update process, and whether the pattern has actual search demand.

Quality before URL volume

Its main defense against thin or doorway pages is distinct value per URL. A city name or keyword alone is not enough when the remaining text is identical. The guidance recommends data-dependent sections, original introductions, relevant examples, intent-appropriate calls to action, and content that genuinely changes with each record. It warns against keyword stuffing, duplicate content, cannibalization, poor data, and pages made only for crawlers. The correct choice can therefore be not to create weak variants, or to noindex them, instead of publishing a large but unhelpful surface area.

Architecture, indexation, and measurement

The recommended structure is hub and spoke: category hubs, reachable detail-page spokes, cross-links, breadcrumbs, and XML sitemaps. The skill favors subfolders over subdomains so pages can generally be managed and linked as part of one site. Before launch, unique titles and descriptions, correct headings, structured data, page speed, internal links, and crawlability belong on the checklist. After launch, track indexation rate, rankings, traffic, engagement, and conversion. Thin-content warnings, ranking drops, manual actions, and crawl errors are signals to investigate.

Installation and responsible use

The library is free and MIT-licensed according to the repository. Install this individual skill in Claude Code with:

npx skills add coreyhaines31/marketingskills --skill programmatic-seo -a claude-code

The command does not create pages or acquire data; it installs guidance for a supported agent. Before generating anything, teams should define data rights, update processes, templates, redirect rules, sitemaps, and editorial quality assurance. Public or scraped data may be wrong, stale, or legally constrained, and an agent must not turn it into invented facts. This entry does not list concrete prices because optional tools and infrastructure have their own provider terms.

Source and popularity in context

The collection's product site and documentation are at marketing-skills.com; its primary source is github.com/coreyhaines31/marketingskills. The repository had 47,560 GitHub stars on 2026-09-07. That number refers to the whole repository, not Programmatic SEO alone, and is a point-in-time interest signal—not proof of organic-search success, data quality, or security. Treat the skill as a working framework and pair it with first-party research, real user data, and a controlled pilot.
