Zilliz

Zilliz is the company behind Milvus, an open-source vector database for AI applications. A vector database stores sequences of numbers that allow texts, images, or other content to be searched by similarity of meaning. According to milvus.io, Milvus can be run as a library, on a single machine, or in a distributed setup; Zilliz also offers Zilliz Cloud as a managed service. For AI assistants the zilliztech organization maintains an MCP server (MCP is an open standard through which assistants talk to tools and data sources) that lets you work with Milvus in conversation.
