SigNoz

SigNoz operates an observability platform that bundles application performance monitoring, logging, tracing, metrics, and alerting into a single tool. The platform is built on OpenTelemetry, the open standard for generating and collecting telemetry data across applications.

SigNoz is available in two variants: a managed, hosted service (SigNoz Cloud) with usage-based pricing, or a self-hosted, open-source version for running on your own infrastructure. The platform brings traces, metrics, and logs together in one workspace, letting teams correlate signals without switching between separate tools. Features include service dashboards with latency and error rates, columnar log search with trace correlation, distributed tracing for up to a million spans, LLM observability for OpenAI, Gemini, Azure OpenAI, and other providers, infrastructure monitoring for Kubernetes and cloud metrics, and threshold- and anomaly-based alerting. MCP server support lets coding agents connect directly to SigNoz data.

The business model is usage-based with no per-host or per-user fees: cloud plans start at $49/month for teams and go up to $4,000/month for enterprise customers, billed by telemetry volume rather than infrastructure size. The open-source base retains strong portability between self-hosted and cloud environments thanks to OpenTelemetry standards.

SigNoz was founded in 2021 and explicitly positions itself as an open-source alternative to Datadog and New Relic, promising similar functionality without the often-criticized, hard-to-predict costs of proprietary observability platforms.
