SAP UI5, open-sourced as OpenUI5 under the Apache 2.0 license, is a JavaScript framework for building responsive, enterprise-grade web applications that run on virtually any browser and device. It forms the technical foundation of SAP Fiori, the unified user experience across SAP's product portfolio.

The UI5 MCP Server is maintained by the UI5 team itself, also licensed under Apache 2.0 and published as the npm package @ui5/mcp-server. It exposes UI5-specific knowledge to AI coding assistants: it can scaffold new UI5 applications, generate UI integration cards, look up API references, validate manifest files, and lint code automatically using the official @ui5/linter.

Because both the framework and the MCP server are fully open source and free to use, the offering targets developers building UI5 applications regardless of whether they hold a commercial SAP license for other SAP products.
