Metabase

Metabase builds the platform of the same name for business intelligence and embedded analytics. Business intelligence means teams query company data and explore it through charts and dashboards. Co-founder and CEO Sameer Al-Sakran started it as a side project in 2014. The open-source edition is on GitHub under the AGPL, a free software licence. Alongside it, there is a cloud service and paid plans with extra features. Since 2026, Metabase has shipped its own MCP server. MCP is an open standard that lets AI assistants work with other services.
