Inngest

Inngest is a workflow orchestration platform. Developers write functions there that are made up of individual steps and triggered by events. An event is a message such as "order received" that a function reacts to. Inngest stores the state of every step and retries failed steps automatically. That keeps long-running processes and AI workflows reliable, even on serverless platforms. The server source code is public and licensed under the SSPL, which turns into Apache 2.0 after three years. For AI assistants, Inngest offers official MCP servers; MCP is an open standard that lets AI assistants use external tools.
