Atlassian

Atlassian builds a suite of collaboration tools for teams: Jira for flexible project management across software, product, and business teams, Confluence as a knowledge management platform, Trello as a lightweight task organization tool, and Jira Service Management for fast service support. The products can be combined into thematic bundles around teamwork, strategy, service, software, and product development.

With Rovo, Atlassian has layered an AI capability on top of its products, built on a team's accumulated knowledge; Rovo Dev specifically targets developers with agentic capabilities. Through the official Atlassian Rovo MCP server, Jira tickets, Confluence pages, and other Atlassian content can be read and edited directly from external AI agents.

Atlassian was founded in 2002 in Sydney by Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar, who met at the University of New South Wales. The two bootstrapped the company for several years, financing it with around $10,000 in credit card debt instead of traditional venture capital — an unusual start for a company that would later be worth billions. Its first major product was Jira, originally conceived as a straightforward bug and issue tracking tool.

The Rovo MCP server listed in this catalog is aimed mainly at teams already working with Jira and Confluence who now want to bring that data into AI-driven development and automation workflows as well.
