UI UX Pro Max

An open-source design-intelligence plugin for Claude Code and other coding agents with a local, searchable UI/UX reference.

UI UX Pro Max is an open-source skill and installable Claude Code plugin from [nextlevelbuilder](https://nextlevelbuilder.io/). It gives a coding agent a structured reference for UI and UX work: styles, colour palettes, typography pairings, chart types, landing patterns, technology-stack guidance, and UX rules are available as searchable local data. The official product page is [ui-ux-pro-max-skill.nextlevelbuilder.io](https://ui-ux-pro-max-skill.nextlevelbuilder.io/); complete source, release history, and licensing are in [nextlevelbuilder/ui-ux-pro-max-skill](https://github.com/nextlevelbuilder/ui-ux-pro-max-skill). This entry covers the installable marketplace component named ui-ux-pro-max, not a standalone design editor or a hosted service.

Verified as a Claude Code plugin

The primary source includes .claude-plugin/marketplace.json. It defines the ui-ux-pro-max-skill marketplace owned by nextlevelbuilder and a ui-ux-pro-max plugin sourced from ./. The equally official plugin.json identifies the local design-intelligence database and the .claude/skills/ path. That means the repository itself supplies Claude Code marketplace and plugin metadata; this is not a claim taken only from a third-party directory. The official marketplace route has two commands:

/plugin marketplace add nextlevelbuilder/ui-ux-pro-max-skill
/plugin install ui-ux-pro-max@ui-ux-pro-max-skill

The catalog stores the second command because it activates the specific plugin. The marketplace must be added first. After installation, restart Claude Code or inspect its plugin manager. The README also documents CLI installation with npm install -g ui-ux-pro-max-cli followed by uipro init --ai claude. That is an alternative path for installing skill files, rather than the marketplace command represented by this entry.

How it works and when it helps

According to the provider, the skill can analyse a UI/UX request and search for recommendations covering product type, visual direction, colour system, typography, page structure, and anti-patterns. The current repository README lists 79 searchable styles, 192 colour palettes, 74 font pairings, 25 chart types, 22 stack guides, 119 UX guidelines, and 192 industry-specific reasoning rules. Those are provider-maintained product counts and may change with releases. In practice, the plugin can support requests such as “build a responsive SaaS dashboard,” “improve a form’s accessibility,” or “create a landing page for a clinic”: the agent can use the reference before writing components, CSS, or templates.

The plugin does not automatically produce a good interface. An agent can misunderstand requirements, alter unwanted files, or apply recommendations poorly to an existing design system. Teams should therefore keep design tokens, brand rules, component libraries, and accessibility requirements as authoritative project documentation. Review generated code in a browser, with a keyboard, and on narrow viewports; check contrast, focus states, validation feedback, translations, and actual interactions. The skill reference supports that review rather than replacing it.

Supported agents and technical boundaries

The official README documents a CLI route for Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex CLI, so those are the three existing catalog compatibilities assigned here. It also names other clients, including Windsurf, Antigravity, GitHub Copilot, Kiro, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode. They are not assigned as extra relations because the current catalog taxonomy has no dedicated compatibility records for them. Depending on the client, the skill may auto-activate for UI/UX work or require a slash command. The client, its permissions, and project approvals still determine whether an agent can read or change files.

Per the README, the search scripts require Python 3 and use the standard library without additional package installation or network calls. Before installation, still check whether Node package installation, global CLI tools, and writes to the target folder are permitted. Start in a test project and use uipro init --dry-run when you want to inspect intended actions before writing. Do not adopt a style recommendation blindly in regulated, accessibility-critical, or brand-sensitive products.

License, popularity, and fit

The official plugin.json and repository license identify MIT. GitHub showed exactly 125,551 stars for the whole repository when reviewed on 2026-09-07. That number is a point-in-time popularity signal for the repository, not specifically for the Claude Code plugin, and it is not evidence of quality, accessibility, privacy, or security. The repository describes an open-source base and a separate premium extension; this public catalog entry deliberately states no concrete prices. Consult current provider information for optional offerings.

Coding is the appropriate category because UI UX Pro Max helps development agents implement and review user interfaces. Creating a new Design category would be too narrow and would artificially separate the same coding workflow. It is especially useful for teams repeatedly building web, mobile, or desktop interfaces that want a documented starting point for agent prompts. It is less suitable when a product may use only a fixed internal design system, cannot install local tools, or would send generated changes to production without professional review.
