Description
Listen to Sadhu is a specialized MCP (Model Context Protocol) server providing read-only access to a comprehensive corpus of Vedic scriptures and the recorded teachings of Śrīla Prabhupāda, a prominent spiritual teacher and founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).
The server integrates the Lectorium Vedic corpus, offering access to: Bhagavad Gita (BG) with 700 verses featuring original Sanskrit/Bengali script, IAST transliteration, and multiple English translations; Srimad Bhagavatam (SB) with over 14,000 verses across 12 cantos; Caitanya Charitamrita (CC) split into three sections; extensive purports (detailed commentaries) by Prabhupāda and Vedic scholars; recorded lectures with metadata; and playable audio excerpts and video clips.
Listen to Sadhu implements the full MCP 2024-11-05 specification with 21 tools covering unified semantic and lexical search, scripture and commentary access, lecture discovery, inline media playback with audio and video players, and fuzzy-matching metadata resolution for authors, locations, and source books. All tools are read-only; no authentication required; no modifications possible.
The Vedic texts themselves are public-domain Sanskrit literature. Prabhupāda's purports and lecture transcriptions are maintained by ISKCON under fair-use terms for non-commercial educational purposes. The MCP server implementation is maintained by Jiva Studio (jiva.studio) and serves as a public interface to this corpus. The read-only, public-data-only design makes it suitable for educational, research, and contemplative use without licensing concerns. Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Mistral, Perplexity, and other MCP-compatible AI assistants can connect via the documented endpoint (https://mcp.listentosadhu.app/mcp) without API keys or subscription.
