Replit Agent is the AI assistant built into Replit, a development platform based in San Francisco, and it's aimed, per the vendor, at people with no coding background as well as experienced developers who want to get from idea to working software faster. Unlike a plain chatbot that only answers questions, Agent takes action itself: it sets up projects, writes code, configures infrastructure, checks its own work, and fixes problems along the way until a working application exists.
From idea to finished application
In the Project Editor, you describe in plain language what you want to build. Per the vendor, Agent can turn that into web apps, mobile apps, data dashboards, and standalone AI tools, as well as visual designs, prototypes, slide decks, videos, and documents – several output types within one project can share the same backend. Agent optionally suggests a fitting project type and then keeps building on its own, refining the result based on feedback from the conversation.
Plan mode and quality control
In what's called Plan mode, Agent first breaks a complex project down into an ordered list of tasks, per the vendor, before touching any code or data – letting you settle open questions and ideas before changes actually happen. During the build itself, Agent tests its own work automatically and creates checkpoints you can roll back to at any time if an intermediate result doesn't hold up.
Integrations and data access
For projects that need real data sources, Agent connects directly, per the vendor, to services like BigQuery, Linear, Slack, and Notion, so applications can work with actual business data rather than just sample data. That makes Agent suitable not only for isolated demo apps but also for internal tools that plug into existing workflows.
Capability tiers: Free Mode, Power, and Max
Within the paid plans, per the vendor, you can choose between model tiers of different strength: the allowance-included Free Mode, the paid mid-tier Power with more capable models, and the premium tier Max running the strongest available models. Enterprise workspaces additionally get an automatic Auto mode whose model access is centrally controlled by IT administration.
Starter – free to get going
The free Starter plan requires no credit card, per the vendor, and includes a daily usage allowance, a built-in database, publishing one active project, and running one background task at a time. That lets you try the whole platform without any commitment.
Core
Core builds on Starter and adds, per the vendor, a larger agent usage allowance, additional model credit, Plan mode, unlimited workspaces, and the removal of Replit branding from published projects.
Pro
Pro carries over everything in Core and substantially increases, per the vendor, agent and model credit, allows up to ten agents running in parallel, supports larger teams with multiple collaborators and viewer invitations, and provides 28-day database rollback.
Enterprise
Enterprise pricing is custom and targets organizations with heightened security and administration requirements: single sign-on via SSO/SAML, dedicated single-tenant environments, static outbound IP addresses, and individually negotiated seat limits and privacy controls.
Who Replit Agent is for
Replit Agent is worth it for anyone who wants to turn an idea into working software as directly as possible without first setting up a local development environment – from individuals with a product idea, to teams that need quick internal tools or prototypes, to companies looking for a browser-based, AI-driven development platform with centralized administration. Anyone who'd rather pair-program inside a classic local IDE is better served by an editor-centric assistant like GitHub Copilot or Cursor; Replit Agent's strength is covering the whole path from a plain-language description to a deployed application, infrastructure included. Replit lists specific prices on its official pricing page.
