Set up and use NDA Triage safely

A practical guide to configuring the official Anthropic skill for first-pass NDA screening.

This guide explains how to deploy the official Anthropic skill NDA Triage in a supported client and use its output responsibly.

Source and preparation

Obtain the instructions from Anthropic’s official knowledge-work-plugins repository and the legal/skills/triage-nda directory. Review the Apache-2.0 license and your internal rules for confidential documents before enabling the skill. Decide who may access NDA results, which storage locations are approved, and when a document must not be transmitted to an external model provider.

Local playbook

If your organization supports local guidance, create an NDA playbook defining preferred mutuality, acceptable terms, required carveouts, prohibited provisions, and internal routing rules. Without a playbook, the provider says the skill uses market-standard defaults that should be identified in its report. Compare those defaults with your company policy before treating any result as a decision.

Screen the document

Provide a PDF, DOCX file, approved document link, or the agreement text. Ask the agent for the classification, criterion-by-criterion review, and specific issue locations. Then check whether every page, exhibit, amendment, and embedded clause was available to the agent. A missing attachment can materially change the classification.

Route the result

Treat GREEN only as a possible standard-approval signal within your delegation policy. Send YELLOW and its flagged deviations to counsel. With RED, pause signature and arrange full legal review, negotiation, or a counterproposal. Share confidential results only with the intended reviewers and retain the final decision with the agreement version that was screened.

Closeout

Record the playbook version, input document, result, human review, and final action. This skill is a triage aid. According to the provider, it is not intended to provide binding legal advice or replace the responsibility of qualified legal professionals.
